PERSEPOLIS BLOG 1

2.written as a memoir, is persepolis more powerful than if satrapi had fictionalized the story? why or why not? compare this book to others memoirs you have read. what are the benefits and drawbacks of memoirs.
well i think its powerful because it is a memoir, then as it being a fictional story. just the fact, to me, that it actually being true makes it a good story. but it would have been a good story eaither way because it was such a good story, and she told it well. the benefits of a memoir is that its a true hand sccount, meaning someone actually experienced it. but usaully its an opinion and doesnt really state both sides of the story. also, maybe the events may have gotten lost in translation i guess...
5.describe the writers voice. is it appealing? which aspects of marji's charecter do you indentify with or like the most, the least/ did your reaction to the little girl affect your reading experience?
For a little girl she was funny. i mean she was very straight foreword. i can identify with that. i dont like when people bs around subjects, you should be straight to the point. i like that she isnt oblivious to things like you would excpect a little girl to be. i mean in this day and age its hard to find anyone who is genuinly innocent.

9."in spite of everything, kids were trying to look hip, even under the risk of arrest."(p.112) how did they do this? what do you think you would have done had you been a child in this enviroment? what acts of rebellion do you do as a teen? in way ways is satrapi just a normal kid?
they wore them under their clothes or they wore them over thier colthes in a subtle way. i think i would have done the same thing. because i just can't conform like that. i mean i do break the law now, (not gonna mention what i do) so i think id do it then. satrapi is normal because shes doing something she wants to do, shes ollowing a fad.
